Favourite musicals and why.

My favourite musical is Fiddler on the Roof because of the historical resonance as well as the beauty of the human spirit it portrays. The first time I saw the movie it was on TV at 2 am and I just couldn't stop watching it.

  1. This is Stu. Don't know how to change it to my name.

Phantom Of The Opera is my favourite musical right now. First time I saw it was at about the same time as you Katherine christmas morning. Good songs, opera house is nice and I loved the few lines that the Phantom sand after All I Ask Of You. The Point Of No Return is awesome.

  2. This is a HUGE question. I have a variety of "favourite" musicals, for a variety of reasons.

For the music (modern): bare: a pop opera
For the music (classic): Hello Dolly

    For the dance/choreography: Cats

For the story: Into the Woods

For the fun times: Legally Blonde

    Overall favourite (currently): Company

There are a bunch of others that I haven't mentioned that work their way through this list. One thing that I'll say is this: my favourites are constantly changing as I discover new shows and progress in my life as an actor and as a person.

    and Spring Awakening

  4. My favourite shows are ALWAY changing. I can have a show that is a favourite for a while and then I can't stand it any more.

I love "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown!" - Always have, always will. It is one of those ones that brought me to follow this path.

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Story of My Life, Spring Awakening, Catch Me If You Can (current favourite), The Fantasticks, Hair, In the Heights, 13 (this may just have to do with my experience doing the show), Seussical, Next to Normal.

I am not a big fan of Jukebox musicals, but I think that Jersey Boys does it VERY well.

Also, the music to Frank Wildhorn's flop "Wonderland" is a great time. It is too bad the story wasn't that superb.
